Monthly Networking Meeting - Disruptive Innovation - How to generate growth during a recession

Speaker: Martin Birkner

The AGBC Munich's guest speaker for Feb 29th  2012, 2012 was Benoit Sarazin, Founder of FarWind Consulting SARL, Paris.

He talked about how to create growth during a recession, using disruptive innovation:

- How to detect opportunities when everyone else only sees a market downturn
- How to change the market dynamics and create new growth
- How to create a long term competitive advantage
- How to become the reference that customers turn to

This is what Apple did with the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, what Nintendo did with the Wii, what Nespresso did with coffee. They all used a Disruptive Innovation approach to make it happen.

Disruptive innovation involves finding new growth drivers and untapped opportunities by detecting latent Customer needs and exploring weak market signals. New products and services are developed to address those needs, providing new unmatched Customer benefits.

Founder of FarWind Consulting in 2001, Benoit is a Paris-based expert specializing in disruptive innovation. During the 1990’s as Marketing Director at Hewlett Packard in Silicon Valley, he implemented disruptive innovation techniques, focusing on fast-moving high-tech markets. At FarWind Consulting, he has developed the formalized FarWind method while expanding its use into lucrative markets beyond the high-tech sector.
